There's No Place Like Home!

Never ever, I mean never go on a vacation at 32 weeks pregnant! Well, I take that back not a road trip. One that lasts more than 10 hours anyway. Oh, my god the winding roads! The mountains, the switchbacks, the climbing and descending and the hundreds of insane people who insisted on riding their mountain bikes on those tiny roads with hardly any shoulder. Apparently it was "ride the Rockies"! Some charity where these ever so fit and a little mentally challenged people in my book ride around the mountains for days? Okay more power to you, but shit you fitness freaks made it even more nerve racking for us to drive! And the little one inutero loved nestling under the right side of my rib cage and kicking me pretty much the entire way there and back so that added to the excitement as well!

I missed Oklahoma sooooooooo much! I was overcome with joy when I saw the frickin state line today! Yeah, Colorado is a really beautiful place, but for some unforsaken reason I missed the flat lands I am so accustomed to. I even missed the hot muggy weather some! I have never been so happy to see my house, I felt like a small child opening a Christmas present when the keys hit my front door. The girls thought I was crazy and Chris thought maybe I was still delirious from the altitude. But that "home" feeling has never felt so good. To see my street, the gas station we go to, the stores, and my lord the most missed of all STARBUCKS! I hadn't had a decent mocha in over a week. For some of you who don't know Starbucks is my wicked craving this pregnancy go around, with the others it was any kind of dessert or chocolate, but this time, it's definitely almost anything from the simple mocha to a coconut mocha frappicino and so on!

There were most definitely some good things about the trip, we saw a bear, it was pretty amazing! Caught some fish, well a fish, but it was really exciting all the same! And one day we took a daytrip to Ouray, wow! It was a nice needed break in the monotony of Lake City. We walked around their downtown area which was amazing, buildings from the 1880's, had lunch and then took the girlies for a swim in the natural hot springs! It was an amazing day! I really wouldn't take any of it back well, some things I might change, but that's another story! But the girls really couldn't have done any better, they were excellent in the car and the whole trip in general! I am so looking forward to sleeping in my very own bed tonite! Who knows maybe I'll get more than just a few hours of sleep! Pics will follow tomorrow!
