Oh let's see here, what to tell! I have a number of things to share, Thing # 1, like my dear friend Ginny, I too have decided to end my love affair with cigarettes. I quit, cold turkey on 3-22 (day after my birthday)a fresh start to a new year. Wow, there is really much to say about this, but I am not ready to get into the nitty gritty detail of how much my little life was truly run by nicotine and I didn't even realize it. Really it's pathetic and so embarrassing........I will tell more later, but let's just say that each day gets better and more bearable. It is really nice to be free of it, it was always a constant worry in my head. And people the one truly suffering here is not me, but my poor husband! Imagine the bullshit he is putting up with right now! Just kidding, well kind of!
Thing #2, Lily girl has been making me crazy lately. She seems to be going through one of her really needy phases at the moment, accompanied by whining, fit throwing, crying, oh and more whining! On top of that, I swear she is always getting hurt and I mean always! Tripping, bumping into things, running into tables, the list goes on, really it's long. Here are a few of her latest calamities though. Sunday at brunch, I ordered her a chocolate chip muffin, the waitress brings it to her and she dives right into it before I can tell her it's hot. So she ends up with a burnt thumb, by the time we left it was bright red, swollen and blistered. It looked really painful. Whose kid really gets burnt by a boiling hot chocolate chip inside a muffin, seriously? I mean I honestly feel sorry for her, but it's endless.
So today we are leaving ballet and she runs into the metal doorknob and hits just under her eyebrow, assuming it'll just be a bruise, I say you're okay let's go. And I look down and she has blood in her tears because it's cut. My first thought was shit, she'll need stitches! But thankfully, it's not that bad, just a cut right above the eye that will surely be accompanied by a black eye tomorrow. I told Chris that we're being prepared now for some hugely tragic accident she'll have later, I'm convinced of it! I am currently blaming her clumsiness on her being left- handed though! I love that girl!
Thing#3, Stella desperately wants to crawl , but is thankfully not very close. I'm sure she'll figure it out though, in the meantime she just rolls everywhere.
Thing #4, Anna is getting ready for her first ever ballet recital, Coppelia ( may 20). She is super excited and really into practicing, even at home. Can't wait, it's going to be precious!
That's about all of the excitement we are having here at the moment!

thing #1-yay!!!! We are doing it together! It's the only way to succeed! I have to say that I am soo proud of you, I have had it way easier than you and you have really shown what a strong person you are.
thing #2- you should have told the blog world about anna's inability to stay in her damn bed maybe someone will have a good idea for you.
Wow. Good for you on the nicotine thing. Me? Not having as much luck. I admire you.
Lily sounds a lot, lot, lot like my Feisty. Clings like one of those dryer sheets. Good grief.
I hope Anna's ballet recital goes great! My girls both really want to take ballet. Is it mucho expensive?
Thanks Ginny!
Kristen-I read a book that really helped put it into perspective, it's called The Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. I know it sounds really hokey, but it has definitely helped me alot. I mean i smoked for 16 years aside from being pregnant, I have never stopped!
and anna's ballet is about $85 a month because she has 2 lessons a week, little pricey!
I'm so proud of both you and Ginny! You guys are seriously going to kick that habit!
Poor, Lily. I always feel so bad for her. It's probably just a phase. Let's hope...
congrats on giving up!!! that's probably the best and hardest thing you can do :)
